Deals for 3/24 -- Pix JW Foxy Folly and great buys

Where is the other one? I have wanted one of those AK Bowies since I first saw it. It would be my first HI product. Black handle on mirror polish, goes hand in hand with my Harley.

Yeah, besides that... its getting to the point where I am actually asking... well do I NEED it versus do I WANT it. I mean between my pen and a WWII or my BAS, I have just about any practical need covered while camping or backpacking. Yeah its cool, but I just took on buying the sword in the event moblues decides he doesn't want it. Do I want to spend another $138. Convince me. :D

Dude, I don't think that any of us here are abo enough to NEED even one kukri, NONE of us NEED swords.

Short story: need isn't a factor. The question is: "Can my family still eat this month if I buy this."

My dog eats a 20 pound bag of Iams every two months... I can stand to lose weight. :D

Great pictures Yangdu. Is that right near Reno or more towards Tahoe?

AK bowie is nice...still waiting for a Chitlangi bowie to pop up.

OK, but what does the Bowie give me that say my BAS doesn't already give me?

Well, duh! ;) The BAS is for heavier stuff with a slightly longer blade. The AKB is for every day carry. :D Also it's a mandatory blade for close in zombie work; you can slash _and_ thrust with it.

Seriously, for a lot of camp chores, using it as a cleaver, chopping, some food prep, making fuzz sticks, etc., (whatever you can think of basically), the AKB gives a better grip and is easier to choke up on for close in work than a regular kukri.

Oh, yeah, and they're cool! :D

They can also be customized nicely. Here's mine with a matching CAK Dan did for me a few years ago (it would have been cool to get an earlier very scarce fullered one, but I was pleased to get this one from Uncle Bill. It balances great and was well done by Bura):

P.S. A note on the CAK, all I had to send Dan was one by Bura at 15.5" long. Was 2nd guessing myself that I should have waited for a 16.5" or 18", but this gives me a perfect 10" blade, and with the sub-hilt I can choke up on it for finer work, more easily than I could if it had started out larger. This also allows it to balance perfectly right at the cho. After the rehandle it's still 15.5" OAL, but the weight went from 23 to 30 oz. Very solid now, and Dan gave them both a razor edge.

(I had to indenture my eldest daughter to Dan for 2 years in exchange for the select Ironwood chunks, but I think it was a good deal. :D)

Well, got the sword at work yesterday, picked it up today. It really is a wicked little fighter between the Sirupati and the Katana. Well done work and simply easy to move with. Definitely not my brute of a sword in the Tarwar. Hope to have more photos soon.
