I'll take the Giant Chit Bowie!!! I'm new to this forum, and I am mainly a Busse fanatic. But..., this is one awesome looking rig. Anxious to see how she compares to my Battle Mistress in regards to overall performance (chopping, slicing, dicing, etc.,.). Anybody wanna' bet??? Just kidding. Any reviews or comments from the HI faithful regarding this particular model would be most appreciated. THANKS!!! WickedSharp,
Email Yangdu at himimp@aol.com with your name, address, and how you'll be paying. Welcome, and hope you got it. That's one amazing knife.

I think you can expect them to be polar opposites in some ways. This Chit Bowie is 1/4 pound heavier than mine an a tad longer. At 3 pounds 9 ounces it is a beast.....much more of a sword than a knife. Maybe if you are built like Andre the Giant you could call it a knife.

The Chit Bowie is hand forged and tempered 5160. Everything is completely handmade. The Busse is INFI and made with the help of water or laser cut blanks and precisely heat treated as opposed to being heat treated with a tea kettle.

As far as chopping it will do well if you have the strength to handle it. Slicing and dicing may not be it's forte. It will come relatively sharp but will need a good convexing to be at par with a Busse.

But as far as personality and uniquness it will hold it's own against almost any knife out there IMHO.

Next to a 16" AK for size comparison.

In hand....I could barely extend my arm enough to get the entire blade in frame.

so when does it stop being a bowie and start being a small sword? beautiful piece :)

Thanks for the information, ilbruche!!! So..., if I understand you correctly, the bowie should take some pretty hard use without any problem??? Obviously, I won't abuse her, but once in a while I get the urge to chop down small trees with a knife!!! Weird, I know. Regardless..., in your opinion..., this knife can handle it !?!?!?

Figure that most "short swords" are in the 24+ inch range, this qualifies.

Don't take this the wrong way, but, LOL.
I'd trust that knife to hold up better than an axe.

Thanks again for the comments. As I rambled earlier..., I am not very familiar with this line of knives, as yet. However; they are exquisite in photographs!!! I will conduct an adequate field test upon receipt and provide my opinions and photos of the Bowie in action. CAN'T WAIT!!!

You know what would be nice?

A Chit Bowie with a clip point, and front guard and maybe a rat tail tang to reduce weight

Giant Chitlangi Bowie is still available
