I have aready spent $100 USD on materials and special oils. My techniques have been practiced enough to the point of now being confident that I will be successful. You guys have encouraged me so I'll document the steps and post the results here.

The only thing is that this work on the Koa wood handle will take time to complete (like all good things). In one month I should be done.
 
May need to offload my regular AK and get myself the Super CAK.

I'm thinking that'd make an excellent general purpose outdoors machete type deal.
