Hmm, interesting. I've never seen it pop up later.

Oh well, I could be wrong.

I have seen that...frequently.

I love it that someone is interested enough to keep track. The models and deriviations would make a formidable coffee table picture book someday.
I can just see all the asterisks by the photos now.

If that Bowie doesn't have a straight edge, it's not the cleaver.

Every time Yangdu displays blades there is something wonderful on the page.

Nossir, already cranked out a couple of my own renditions of this model. I've just got a soft spot for villagers, a soft spot for Bura's work, and a soft spot for hard working handy little knives. What with all them soft spots, I reckon I'm feeling a little squishy. Uh, no pilgrim, I said squishy, not swishy, are you a bleeder, you look like a bleeder to me. :p  :D

Sarge
I bleed, but not from Squishy little remarks, Sarge ol'boy. I also like those little utility blades. Your renditions are quite nice.

Through the eyes of a leech or mosquito, we are all of us bleeders.

The days of the Kumar Karda and the JKM being about it for HI utility 'small' knives are kinda over, aren't they?

A very good friend gave me a Sarge knife. I thought that would do it for the category, but now.... many more blades I don't have.

A year of Yangdu at the helm and the collectors must be going crazy.

Please somebody buy that hanshee. It's beautiful, I have one. If it doesn't go soon, I'll have to sell a kidney.

Wow, today's offering was incredible. A DOTD posting like today almost ought to be offered as all-or-none, because it was a fine instant collection of a variety of of the best stuff HI offers. Almost sad to see the little family of knives broken up like that...

Im broke and full of desire!

For some reason, I liked this line.

Just did!!:D One of my classes got cancelled:grumpy:, so I emailed Auntie Yangdu to see if it was still around, it ships today! My first HI blade, this'll be sweet! Thanks for making a bad day a good one Yangdu!:D

I just received this blade today - I am in awe of the craftsmanship that went into this blade. Well done.

Thank you, Yangdu!

near twins. i've asked before, but does anyone KNOW? are they the same, different? i'll study the pix in a moment myself, but spec wise, length, weight...

the YCS is 1 inch longer and about 5 ounces heavier than the foxy i'm getting shortly... (probably tuesday with holiday, we'll see). i'd love to heft a range of each to find out.

historians? svashtar? yvsa?

I have both. To boil it down, the Foxy is shorter, thinner, lighter and rings like a bell. In general.

My YCS has a chiruwa handle and the Foxys don't. But the YCS can be either chiruwa or not.

I believe the typical YCS and Foxy have different blade profiles as well.

I also think, proportionally, the Foxy has a wider blade. But examples vary.
