I just talked to Yangdu about the Udda Sword. The Monkey Pod Wood is from Hawaiwi (SIC) and cost her a LOT to ship to Nepal. She can't just pick up anymore either, it is hard to get. So the sword is unique, and priced as low as she can go. It is a great deal and just waiting for the right person.

I don't know why it is still here but I don't 'why' about a lot of things.

Aieeeeeee, it calls to me, the precious calls, must have the precious. . . . . . .

By the way, I knew right off the bat what Monkey Pod wood is and that it had to have come from somewhere in the South Pacific. Seen many a georgeous salad set and what not carved from that stuff, it's a wood of enduring beauty, the more you oil it the more it glows.

Don't need a durn sword for nothing, but Lord help me, e-mail sent.

AAaaaargh, blast all ye slimey bilge rats, that monkey pod handled head lopper is going in old Thumbcutter's arsenal. Maybe I'll tote it canoeing down in Florida in case a durn gator gets after me, "honest officer, durn thing was going to have me for lunch until I gave him what for with this here Himalayan toad sticker". Yes indeed, my fifteen minutes of fame are durn near guaranteed if I pull a Johnny Weismuller with a dadburn Udda sword. :eek: :rolleyes: :D

You mean you were going to try to buy that thing right out from under me? Why of all the low down, conniving, just plain dirty. . . . Kidding, just kidding, this one had us both sweating bullets, I blinked first is all. Like I said, I've got no use for a sword right now, but heck, a sword like that, maybe I'll figure one out. Bolt yer doors and hide yer woman lads, you've been fairly warned. :D

Hey, I snagged a DOTD for once!

8 inch 7 ounce JKM by Kumar with US antler handle is mine. This is my first new HI knife although I did get one of Rusties a little while back from Mrs Rustie via Mamav.
 
Mailman showed up with the Udda sword today. When I told him the long box he was toting contained a very sharp and deadly sword, his eyes popped big for a second, then he grinned and said, "knowing you, I ain't surprised". :D

Deadly, perhaps, but as for sharp, well, I'll be fine tuning that after I grill some steaks this afternoon. Then I'll be needing me a "volunteer".:eek: :eek: :D

Yangdu, thank you for the extra trouble that was gone to in procuring the Monkey Pod wood for this handle, it was worth it
