Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I was thiiiiisss close to buying that one. I could practically hear my bank account whimpering. :D :grumpy:

Well, part of me hates you for being so slow. But (!) this is a worthly cause. And my other GRS has moved on to my 17 y.o. son and the wilderness of Western Maine/The Destructive Testing Dept. I am glad to be buying another GRS by Bura. This one will be a safe king. If more help is needed for the Kamis' health count my klan in.:D

I just received my antler handle sher attitude today (pretty much the same kuk) and I still want a hasiya. You and I are thinking alike.

Yes, I think so. Actually, I tried for your antler attitude right after it went up for sale, but my email got lost and never made it to Yangdu.

Eric.

Eric,
Congrats today. I was out shopping with my wife...waiting rather...so I missed the dotd. Sorry yours was lost in cyberspace. Fate jumped in today to make sure you got this one. I probably wouldn't have tried to get a second antler sher, but you don't want your khuks to get lonely. I love mine. Let me know how you like yours and the kinds of things you plan to do with it. Most of my khuks have been just for chopping but I really wanted one for self-defense (longer narrower blade, gradual curve). The attitude feels heavier than I expected (I like that). I guess with the cho cut out it is much more blade heavy (also good).

P.S. I just noticed that yours is bigger and heavier than mine...you win! :D

Really great khuks, especially that big honkin' villager Pen Knife, it just fairly screams "put me to work". That's the one I'd be going for if I was y'all, except my knife budget piggy bank has done got so hollow it whistles when the wind blows. :o
Still, look at that generous handle, the shape of that blade, and the heavy enough, but not too heavy 25 oz weight. Villagers rock, and that one says "Go time". :D

Sarge

Mail sent for Pen Knife & Ganga ram.
If I score, tis my honker pen:eek:

Too much time @ work to think twice!!

Rationalize to m'self. Would love YCS.. have one already.
These two, same price, good cause, press button!
Done.

Good eye Sarge! I could have had it the other day for $30 more and should have snagged it then. The first ever 17"+ pen knife in Villager style for $40 less than the first 15" pens went for! I was hesitant the other day but have since seen two 18" blades by Vim that are first class, so shouldn't have hesitated.

I've noticed that the kardas that come with the new YCS's have the edges very nicely curved with more belly to them. Most standalone YCS kardas don't have that design. That and the standard handle makes these new ones good snags.

I have an 18" 38 oz. YCS with red chandan and am going to have to try and sell or trade it for one of these by Kumar, as all of mine have the chiruwa handles. (Well, correction, my first checkerboard had standard handles and habaki bolster. Funny, at the time everyone was disappointed by that non-chiruwa handle, and now that is considered "original" and desirable.) Still, I like this new design.

Hope the Kami's are feeling better soon. Being sick and working with sharp things doesn't work too well.

Norm
