Deals for 6/16 -- Pix, Villager, CAK and Great Buys

Jeez BC! I should send you pics of my Bura WWII, you would freak out :D

Satin finish is way more practical

Okay, it came in today, and I think you called it, HD... does look more characteristic of a BGRS than a BC.

there have been a few variants on the GRS front... the old skool ones were very bonecutter like, but then they got a little less leafier, more pointy, and slightly less beefy in feel. styles change...

now, i'm all for the old skool models :) bring those back!

but the bonecutter, especially the one finagled Sgt Khadka to produce is a different best than a BGRS... and it's different than the originals such as HollowDweller have (sigh!)

lately many bonecutters are being offered by the other kamis, with slight variations (like rat-tails, which makes them MORE like HollowDweller's than my full-tang wish-fulfillment :>). i'm sure we'll see many clever ideas.

money is VERY tight right now, and i should even consider trading off or selling more toys... but someday, if he's still making them, i need to get a few more sizes of bonecutters from the good Sgt

Aye, the rat-tail tangs and slimmer handles seemed a trademark of the original Prajwal BC's. This BGRS has a nice slender, comfy handle too. I think it's even less pointy than my BC, but the bevel isn't as long.

What I see is the original bonecutters and the first ones Sgt. K produced had a curve that sort of ran uninterrupted from the tip to the end of the handle along the back.

The newer ones the handle has a nice curve then from the bolster about halfway out they are nearly straight and then they start curving again toward the tip.

The "Ganga Ram Bonecutter" curves along the entire length of the blade but then the handle is not curved like the real bonecutter. Also while the Bonecutter has a gentle curve along the whole back of the knife, the edge itself is fairly straight and deep and the curve on the edge side is more back nearer to the cho. That one has a curved sweet spot and the curve is more out from the cho like a Ganga.
