I forgot about the BAS... I don't own that model so I tend to forget it even exists. That is also a very versatile design but I find the blade a little short. I am more comfortable with 16.5-18 inch kukri

I'm in one of the worst states for weapon possession. CA D: Like I said, I'll have to talk with law enforcement and get an idea on what's acceptable.



Edit: looks like you can carry a fixed blade, or locked open folder as long as sheathed and worn openly hanging from the waist. I wonder about a potential size limit though.



edit: just got off the phone with LA county sheriff and so long as the knife isn't covered at all, and is fully visible, there is no length limit. So the next question is, what length has you all found to be the max that is comfortable for belt carry. I'm 5' 10" 160lbs. Thanks for any help provided!
