Nice, another 18" 18 oz sirupati, nice snag 'ninja! Hope to see more light ones around.

Thanks Qeth. It does seem like these things appear just when my willpower is at it's weakest. I can't wait to get it in hand. It's definitely going to be a user.

You know we all want an after action report, don't forget it! :P

Definitely. I have an entire hill I have to manage. With the weight and slim profile I think this is just the hand tool I need on an incline. (Plus its an excuse to put these things to work like how they are screaming for.) I just read an old thread about Dhar wood and its unusual strength. I'm itching to put some tung on it before I put it to use. Unless anyone can come up with a reason why I shouldn't based on the type of wood.

WOW, that Bonecutter is nice!

My Bonecutter is 16-3/8" overall and weighs 695g (24 oz). That 18" monster should be an absolute brute! Can't believe its still there.

Impressive!

That Foxy is incredible in so many ways. The looks. The design. The specs! If I've ever seen "the whole package" this Foxy might be it. That handle is beautiful and looks so comfy and warm. One of a kind!

I have an 18" Sgt Khadka Bonecutter that I got last year as a special order. Whoever get's one is getting an amazing chopper.
The good Sgt really knows his craft.

We had a bad thunderstorm here last night so I had to unplug everything but I was shocked to log on this morning and see that no one scooped up the Bonecutter. So many people post that they want one and here is one by the master himself and no takers? I can say this without a seconds hesitation, the Bonecutter is one of the supreme choppers of the kukri world. Not only is it a good chopper, it is also very well balanced, comfortable in hand and a pleasure to use.

Just curious, is this a size, weight or price issue?

Yangdu, I really like how Tirtha shaped the handle on the Foxy Folly for comfort and control. The figure in the walnut speaks for itself. I hope more knives are made using this style. If I wasn't helping my daughter buy a home I would grab this one. Our sawmill just finished drying a new batch of crotch walnut and hard maple if you would like some more. Kevin

Kevin, If you are responsible for that Foxy's handle, THANKS! I think that handle could be another break through design. The wood itself is absolutely beautiful. I've noticed the Foxy seems to share the blade of the BDC, only non-chiruwa. It seems that at those specs and with that deep belly, it could be a candidate for perfect portable khuk. Add that handle, if it's as comfy and secure as it looks, and HI might have a real winning combo. One suggestion would be a brown (or natural tanned) sheath, since this darling is a woods walker if I've ever seen one. As a matter of fact, I'd prefer to see many more sheaths in the natural color.

Bill, the size and weight don't seem too large for a BC. 39 oz. is a lot of weight, but for a dedicated chopper, it doesn't seem unreasonable. In these times, the price tag could be an issue. It's well worth it for sure, but I think the right person needs to find it. Plus, many sharks were fed during the past two week's blem sales. A binge like that will take the wind out of folks sails! I think it won't last that long though. Bonecutters by the man himself are rare and could stop being produced any day. I don't believe that's forgotten by many. Take care.
