Deals for 7/23 --Pix, Sgt. Super CAK, Cherokee Rose and Great Buys

I asked about the Super CAK recently and was told the difference is that the Super has the three pins in the handle. The pins can also be aluminum. A magnet will let you know whether the pins are steel or aluminum.

who said that?

2 or 4 or 17 pins? no matter. it's not the number of pins.

there's really only been the really SUPER Super CAK pre/Bonecutter-prototype to speak of before. good to see another one.

sgt khadka is da man!

A Super CAK is really more of a dui chirra (two fullers) hybrid than anything else. It's lighter, faster, and more agile than a standard CAK in the same size class.

ayup. it's a bit longer and a LEETLE less leafy than a typical C/AK. the big difference is noting the length of the primary chirra - it should be a more than somewhat elongated.

as well, iirc, the edge profile was a bit thinner than a typical C/AK.

due to the slightly longer nature, the handle might also be a few fingers longer, to balance it out. course, that's just my mere opinion having owned the first one for a short time :)

The edge bevels themselves are only slightly thinner than most other khukris... but they are also shorter, as Sgt Khadka forged those fullers fairly deep. Just by feeling it with my fingers, it feels like the thickness at the bottom of those fullers is maybe a little more than 1/8" thick.

My standard AK is my very first H.I. piece. Kumar made the edge bevels very thin; almost razor thin. It cuts like the dickens but can bind up sometimes. The Super CAK cleaves through virtually everything, hence it's name. Cleaver.

I'd still like to suggest changing its name to the WW3 Model  as it really isn't an Ang Khola and more of a hybridized Dui Chirra type khukri.

That works too  because there's someone else on this forum who has one very much like it in a 18" version. I think his might be a bit more pointy though. He refers to it as a Chiruwa Dui Chirra.

How in the heck did a Cherokee Rose survive an entire weekend (and why didn't I check here Friday)? E-mail sent on it. Fingers crossed...

Already sold behind the scenes. Poop. :(
