Hmmm - The officials got a pretty good idea of off the shell products value.
But they probably can't tell the difference between cheap/tourist vs real items unless they have a personal interest in the subject.
 
As far as most would be concerned, it just another one of the knives coming in via Pakistan/India and they would be right....different story if encrusted in silver and semi-precious gems....
 
It has a certain gladius charm about it even though edging quite different along with most every other aspect....if i did not have the tarwar, i certainly would have made an inquiry as to availability....and the in-transit multi-fuller khukuri nailed the door shut on that idea...
