Deals for 9/05 -- Pix, Ang Khola, villager and rare one.

Fellers, I have to confess, I jumped on that Kumar Karda by the new kami, Dil, for good reason. I've got it's "evil twin" riding on my hip right now. Call it serendipity, it just arrived about 2 hours before Yangdu posted this batch.

What the "evil twin" is, is a knife I asked Yangdu to special order for me a while back. It's a Kumar Karda, also made by Dil, and it doesn't stop short at just having a plain wood handle, boys, it's a villager. It's also the first blade by Dil Bhadur that I've gotten a chance to handle, and I've got to tell you, I'm very impressed with his work. While this knife's a true villager, there's nothing at all lumpy, bumpy, or wavy about it's satin finished blade. The flats, bevels, edge, and spine, are all straight and true. And, after a brief session on an Arkansas stone and a strop, it'll really pop some hairs.

So, now I'll have two excellent Kumar Kardas (gave the ones I had to deploying troopies, good field knives), one "officer grade" with a mirror finished blade and shiny brass furniture, the other one "NCO grade" with white metal mounts, and everything satin finished. Both have plain, smooth, handles of monkey pod wood, and both made by the new kami, Dil. Yessir, that there's some good stuff. ;)

So...since I lobbied for the R-7...and just spoke up for metal handles, too...I really had no choice.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :D

But AFTER this, I'm saving my money!
