Yangdu Clearance Special continues...

DOTD0503005.jpg

(Top)
SOLD - Chainpuri - wood, 21 oz., 18.5 inches, 1.1 oz./in., S.B. = $80 shipped

- This rig is as perfect as it is stunning. Can't miss on this one.

(Left to Right)
SOLD - Chiruwa Ang Khola - horn, 26 oz., 17 inches, 1.5 oz./in., K.M. = $105 shipped

- 10/10, Nothing wrong with it at all. Frankly, probably the best one I've seen of all those that have passed my hands and an extra half-inch to boot.

Bura Hanshee - horn, 20 oz., 15.5 inches, 1.3 oz./in., L.B. = $95 shipped

- Small amount of rust on the tip - take this rare beauty at a steal of a price. Those that have wanted a BGRS should take a long look at this one = only $25 more compared to a BGRS villager and it comes fully finished (with standard bolster and metal fittings).

SOLD - Ang Khola - horn, 24 oz., 15 inches, 1.6 oz./in., S.B. = $95 shipped

- This one is a brute. It is 2 inches shorter than the Chiruwa but feels heavier/stronger. If you need a true beater - this is it.

EMAIL to get any or all.

Important - Please Read:
  • 1. Payment is by PAYPAL (add 3%), CHECK, or Money Order ONLY.
Do not send payment to H.I. - I am collecting it here.
If you send payment to H.I. it will end up as a very nice donation to Ram's tuition. :D
  • 2. Please EMAIL me for payment address/info - please include YOUR shipping information.
  • 3. I can ship USPS Priority or FedEx Ground - Please specify which you prefer. I will ship USPS Priority by default.
  • 4. I will mark the item SOLD when I get your COMPLETE information.
  • 5. I will ship when payment arrives - no sooner.
  • 6. Price includes ConUS shipping costs. International = add $25
I am trying to make this as similar to Yangdu's Deals as possible - to keep things running smoothly, but naturally, there have to be a few changes. I will be collecting all payments and returning a lump sum to Yangdu when she returns. I am not benefiting monetarily from this. Just doing my best to help H.I. stay afloat, keep the kamis busy, and reduce some inventory.

If you have ANY questions, please feel free to EMAIL me. Bear with me...I'm sure there are going to be kinks in the system that need working out.

I'll update this first post as items are sold.

Check out that BGRS/Hanshee!!

Everything everyone is clamoring for. Trad bolster no cho creep awesome!!!!!

Good intro Dan! Sex sells! ;)

Nice stuff.

A chainpuri for brush or mayhem.

Unbreakable Chiruwa.

Hanshee for that more traditional look.

Bulletproof Sher AK.

Everything you need for work or pleasure!

Steve

as expected, Chainpuri immediately GTPA !

Daniel is it still possible to send you money in letter and get the knife in post? I bought 2 of them (Sirupati and KK) from Yangdu this way with no problems.

Couldn't we all use an extra half inch or so?

Man I wish I wasn't moving this month- I really want that Chiruwa AK!

I admit Chiruwa AK's in horn are rare, but there will be other Chiruwas. That's a nice looking rig. I personally prefer mine a tad heavier- towards the heavy chopping side, less the 'all around' side.

The Chiruwa Ang Khola is really speaking to me, though I'm not sure if my wife Kimberly will forgive me for this...

email sent!

Geoffrey

Thanks, Dan!

(I'll now probably have to lay low for awhile... let the HIKV subside in my system... I broke one of my cardinal rules, which is to at least wait until the previous purchase arrives in the mail before making another! Geoffrey :) )

Chiruwa is GTFL !!

hawkwind - yes - shoot me an email with what you want.....quickly....:D

The only HI khuk I have as yet is the Dui Chirra. It is a fine blade that I used to cut down several large (5 to 6 inch diameter) maleleucas with. They bleed by the way, purple blood! But the DC is really a bit large for all but the heaviest work I do regularly.

So I have been thinking that I will purchase a Chiruwa or a WWII next. Or a Foxy Folly if any become available!

Anyways, what would you say is a good weight for a Chiruwa chopper? At 30 oz. the Dui Chirra feels quite heavy in the hand but I think that is more a result of the length of the blade compared to the length of the handle then it is the actual weight.

27 or 28 oz. Same for a WWll. This is the meat of usefulness. Much heavier, even a few ounces, becomes noticably heavier to carry and does not cut enough better to warrant. 30 oz is sort of a cut off for me. I've noticed past that it really gets annoying after walking several miles through thick brush or steep country.

Dan Koster said the 15" AK felt like a brute- it weighed 24 oz, only two oz's less than the Chiruwa AK, but unlike the AK, more of the weight was forward, whereas the AK has some extra in the handle. I am wondering if that particular 15" AK would buck the trend and be able to cut well. I find most 15's just too short and slight.

But there are lots of Chiruwa AKs to come. Fans say they cut better than the 18" AK. Raghorn swears this is true. Who knows? Everyone is a little different. I think the 18" length gives you a leverage advantage not found in shorter blades.

Poetslair-

It is tough, but you must forgive them when they do not understand.

The wife sees this practically- you don't need another toy. The fellow sees his life is made primarily of conformity and repeated pattern, and the blade, or gun, or fill in the blank, a little fresh stir of the heart, a drink of water, respite, a small joy interrupting the ceaseless pattern. So when she puts it down, you think she's saying you don't deserve the small pleasure.

In the words of my wise friend Charlie Bear, "Everyone needs to get himself a little present now and then."

Welcome to HI.

I like 23 to 28 ozs. This is in the 16 to 18" range. Actually for me, and I don't know why, but a shorter khuk can be heavier, more up toward the 28oz range and feel comfortable, but a longer one is not. 28 if you are going to do a lot of chopping stuff 6" and above and 23 up if you are going to be using it more dual purpose. I've got a 15" 20oz coming and I'm gonna be interested to see how it performs.

roughedges - I do have a couple WWII's in the box. Take your pick (wood or horn) for $105 shipped. Shoot me an email if interested.

How much do those WWll's weigh Dan, and who made them?

(that must have been one freakin huge box you got)

munk

Two boxes actually.....:D......and they were oven-sized....

WWII - wood, 25 oz., 18 inches, 1.4 oz./in., V.B. $105 shipped
WWII - horn, 23 oz., 18 inches, 1.3 oz./in., L.B. $105 shipped

Ok guys,
I want you to understand that ordinarilly I am encouraging the purchase of such lavish items. I have a great admiration and love for the amount of swords we own. But I must tell you, I am not the one who talks about spending too much in this family, it is my darling Geoffrey,,,now you are all my witnesses.

There is a point where one must take a breath!!!!

Best to Yangdu...
