Debate with the Wife

Would have said to CC, but get the feeling you would search him first :p

You are correct! :D

Great, funny thread. My wife has never threatened my knives and I would never threaten her shoe/purse collection.

I don’t have a shoe/purse collection, but I do have a modest collection of knives. @91bravo knows better than to threaten mine. :)

Haha, yeah, my wife feigns interest in the hobbies in which she could care less, and I do the same :D I could show her a Manix 2 and say, "Hey hon, look at this sweet knife I just bought." The next week I could show her a GB1, and she would say "Oh, cool, glad you are enjoying it! ... didn't you just show me that knife last week though?"

It’s always nice to see spouses who support each other. It could be a lot worse. ;)

Any knives bought while married are half hers. Tell her she's ruining half her knives.

Is that how it works? In that case, I own half of some really nice knives! Muahahaha!

Love seeing all the blue up in here. I’ll play. The XM-18 is mine, the Eklipse is half mine. :D

Funny thread. I read it with a smile while being thankful my wife doesn't bust my chops too much about my knives.
Already posted this pic in the EDC thread today, but since you like blue and Hinderers, here it is again.

I am working through this weekend, and my wife blitzed the garden. I came home and found my Helle Gaupe on the table, muck all over the sheath, blade covered in gunk. I cleaned both up. I was actually rather pleased, and she made a good choice of knife, too. :)

Mind you, my initial reaction was rather different, although I was wise enough not to say it.:mad:

She used a knife for its intended purpose, right? Good on her! And you, too, for keeping your mouth shut. Lol!

Damn right, on both counts!

The initial reaction came out as:

“What’s this doing on the table?”

“I was using it in the garden.”

I go to the sink and clean it up.

“Mmmm. It’s a very nice knife, you know, this one.”

*thinks* You could have used a Mora

“Well, maybe you should show me which are not so nice?”

*thinks* Actually, it’s a perfect knife to use, I’m being unreasonable. Damn it.

“No, no. Luckily I am one of those who actually uses their knives.”

“Well, I knew that, so I thought you’d be pleased.”

*thinks* She’s got me on toast. Again. Gah!

“Yes, of course. You made an excellent choice.”

At which point I made a tactical withdrawal, grinding my teeth.

Lmao!

I am not smarter than my wife, so I don’t bother to hide knife purchases. This may be why I haven’t found my knives imbedded in concrete, thrown in the composter, washed in the dishwasher, etc.

Here’s a great trick I use to buy inexpensive knives and accessories (sheaths, sharpening stuff, etc.) from the big river site.... once I know what I want to buy I say “Hey babe, I am ordering a real cheap thingy online and need to spend a few more bucks to hit the Prime minimum. Anything you or the kids need?” And on cue, the floodgates open and a large, multi item order from multiple vendors is placed. My little Spyderco, sharpener or sheath arrives, I am happy and my wife doesn’t throw my knife stuff in the dishwasher. The art of distraction. ;)

I came home one spring evening last year. My wife was seven months pregnant and she sodbusted the garden by hand while watching 2 girls. 3 and 4 at the time. I was blown away. She used a Bk-6 and eagle talon fixed blade to start the fabric.

She said, somebody needs to get it done.

It was tough ;) but i finished up that last 45 minutes of fabric and staking on my own.

Here is all of them now, front to back.
9 months Ava, 5 Bella and 4 Sophia.
