Dec. 2012-Bubble Jig--The winner is Medicevans!

I have to say and even though I've been out of making knives for a bit I bought this back in it's early days and I have to say I still think it's an awesome jig. Now that I'm in the process of getting my shop set back up again I'm really only in this for the feather pattern billet. I think a feather pattern is about the sexiest one that can be done on a blade but I'm looking forward to also using Fred's jig as well again. For those who are interested in grinding steel and want to have great looking grind lines spring the cash and pick one up if you don't win one. Or if I win one I'll probably do a drawing for a jig anyway since I have one... So cheer me on you might get another shot at one soon! :D

 Good to hear you are getting your shop back on line. Its not good for a man to be without his shop.

This pic shows the carbon casing left after the final weld.

Here is the billet being cleaved into two pieces. The last weld will be to put these two pieces back together.

This points to the reason why I update daily. :) Page 2 is ancient history.

Just pulled the billet out of the ferric chloride. I like it. Feather pattern is like rolling the dice, no guarantees.

Its 6 inches long 3/16 thick by 1 5/16th's wide.

There were two people an equal distance from 228. Medicevans with 232 and Anthony Chaney with 224. IN the draw off the number chosen was 298 which makes the winner of this giveaway Medicevans.
