Dec 21, 2012 what are your end of the world blades?

If the world ends in a way that would make a knife remotely useful, I'll be strapping on virtually everything I can carry. I figure I can arm a few friends that way :p


Actually, I'd probably just throw an axe, saw, hatchet, hawk, and a couple fixed blades into my trunk along with some blankets and tarps, then go back inside and sit until I'm actually forced out of my home. Cause leaving early would be silly...

EDC is Vic Super Tinker, LM Juice S2 and Spyderco Tenacious so they are a given. There's also a Fallkniven F1 with Bark River handles in my work bag.

However, in the spirit of the occasion, on the way out of the door to work today I also grabbed my ZT 0200, Bark River Aurora and just for the hell of it, Gerber Bear Grylls Ultimate Survival Knife :D

That Gerber BG should come in handy. After all, it is The ULTIMATE Survival Knife...I must shamefully admit that I also own one.:o

It actually works pretty good as a general purpose camp knife.
 
If the world ends, I want my Tramontina machete, Bark River sheath knife, Buck lockback pocket folder and Victorinox Spartan Swiss Army Knife in a small belt sheath together with a sparking rod and some tinder.

They should be all that is needed. I will also go back to Western Samoa, where I hope to plant taro, catch fish and drink green coconuts. After seeing some of the things people do in modern civilization, that might be the better place to be.

Unfortunately I had to sell my only two bussekin. Now I'm stuck with a Junglas, ESEE 6, ESEE 5, IZULA, HI 18inch ang khola, Spyderco Sage 2, Spyderco Cat, and a Cold Steel large Espada.
 
Just my 0350 and Dragonfly on me for the end of days. But i did put my BK2, Izula and Street Beat in my bag for the hell of it today. Along with my P250.

BOOM!!



You never know, and that's the point.

Since we're dreaming about the end of the world my preference is zombie apocalypse. I figure it's about as real as anything else. In that case, these will do. Bark River STS-8, SBG Black Dragon Katana. And I threw in a Zippo and a Fireworm F1 Ti light. You have to have fire and see them coming.

What I carried today: Gerber Guardian Boot knife, Kershaw JYD, Spyderco UKPK, and a Buck Bucklight to round it out.
 
Mayans didn't think of leap year.....not so smart after all :D....if they did we'd be dead sometime in April.

I slept throughout doomsday in my birthday suit!
