Can you clarify the image posted above? The handle text shows nickel silver, but the description text says stainless steel. Which is it?

That’s a good looking knife. I wonder if it’s stainless or Nickel Silver? I can’t tell by looking but would guess NS based on the satin finish?

My first 501 (1980) was SS but the second two (2000, 2013) are nickel silver. I prefer the look of NS. They both hold up well.

I was contemplating it, when I saw NS bolster it saved me some money.
However I'm glad to see it is not NS. SS holds up far better than the NS, but I'm still gonna pass and save some money.
The long pull looks nice.

To the best of my knowledge the 501's changed from SS to NS in 97 when they changed the bolster size.

I like it, it's a good looking knife and I'm a micarta fan. But, I don't think I'd carry it enough to justify the $150. My non-pocket clip knives just don't get carried that much anymore.

Just got back from a day-trip, so getting my first real look. I am going to sleep on this one. When I first saw it earlier in the day, my thought was pass, especially since I have the Oct21 BOTM Duke. Now I am liking the idea of the micarta.

Hmmm...I just received the 55, and that knife is smaller than this one. It's nice, but $150 would land me another Spyderco Chaparral (trying to get 'em all). Decisions, decisions....
