Does anyone have an idea where to get a decent sheath for the CS Bushman? I just received mine and I love it, but the sheath is junk. I am not up to making my own kydex sheath, any ideas? Thanks
Frankly?
The sheath could cost more than the knife in question.
In which "case" (don't mind the pun), it's time to take up some basic leathercraft on the side.
I have a Bushman and the sheath is very ordinary.
The blade is fine but the handle is worse than I thought it might be.
I have seen the inner-tube and plastic dip mods and I don't like either of them.
Any other ideas? I have bound mine with Paracord and its ok but there is some movement in the cord due to the handle shape.
Is there anything to coat the cord with that will seal and stabilize it?
I was thinking about a fibreglass type resin applied lightly.
Any advice appreciated
The older CS Bushman came a leather sheath with a kydex insert, not the highest quality however comprable to the knife. For a better feel on the handle I used tennis racket grip tape made by Wilson, it gives the handle a great feel and absorbs shock when chopping. Remember don't read more into the knife than what it is. It is inexpensive not cheap tooth as nails but a hammer and chisel. It will skin and quarter some of the largest game.
Not a problem brother - I've read a lot of good things about your products, and always find your posts interesting. When my $$ starts coming in a little thicker, I need to get a Bushman sheath from you also. And, I'll probably be needing one for a Ranger RD4 - have you done one before? Again, it'll be a couple months, but I'll make sure to hit you up when the time comes!
