Decent watch band compass

Hey guys, I'm on the hunt for a decent watch band compass to attach to a paracord bracelet. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a that-a-way compass to supplement my other compass. I'd like to keep the price under $10 if possible.

I was looking at the brunton watch band compass #9068, but some of the reviews say it doesn't point north at all. I noticed the same problem with the brunton key ring compass when I looked at it in a store, so I'm inclined to believe them. Unfortunatly, I haven't found many other options.

Any opinions?

Thanks

I have a Normark wrist compass that I guess is a bit more than the average watchband compass in that it occupies the entire area a watch would. I got it on ebay. It works okay, but generally gets left at home in favor of a baseplate compass. Lots of small compasses at www.suncompany.net

Check out goinggear for button compasses of different sizes. Glue the compass into a suitable holder with an attachment for the band. That would be my recommendation.

You might look at a Suunto Clipper. I don't have any experience with them but Suunto has a good reputation. However, from what I've read none of the ones that clip on a watchband work all that well and if I really wanted a backup compass I'd probably go with something like the Suunto M9.

I had a Suunto Clipper that fell off my watchband the first day out.
I wouldn't want to rely on a button compass anyway.

The Suunto Clippers are hit or miss. Buy it from a store that way you can compare them all to a good quality compass. When I was in the military I wore the Suunto M9 as my backup compass and it worked exceptionally well, so if you don't mind something on both compasses, it's worth it.

+1 Sun Company and what Esav added... get a wrist compass and have a second (pocket) compass to confirm what the wrist compass tells you!

You definitely DON'T want a compass 'that can't point North' LMAO! Must be one of them Cracker Jack ones'!!

There is a company in Minnesota I believe that makes THE best lifetime compass. I forgot the name, but some of you up in Northern Woods will know whom I'm speaking of.....

Bing! Bing! Bing! We have a winner! Thank you X39, it is indeed TruNord compass Company. The gentleman that owns the business is a fine guy and craftsman at that! Check that website out...
