So I'm looking to experience a d2 or s30v steel type, but
I don't wanna spend a lot. I know its more expensive then other steels, but whats the cheapest knife you know of so I can kinda get a feel to see if I like it or not? Thanks!

S30v Kershaw Blur runs about $75 or less. Don't own one in s30v but have one in 14c28n and one in cpm154 and theyre both great.

Kershaw makes a few composite blades in that range, leek, junkyard dog, and rake - check out kershawguy.com, Dave is the best place for KAI stuff. :)

Would second Junkyard dog or Rake.
Buck vantage pro S3ov $50
Lionsteel Opera D2 $70
Becker BK24 D2 $50
There's a bunch of Kizer folders around $80 that have D2 or S35vn.

I got this BK24 setup with the ESEE Micarta handles and sheath altogether cost $60.

I think everyone should experience Dozier's D2 once for what his grind and heat treat can do. it is 4 times your budget though.

I got more knives made from D2 than any other. There at a great price point for in my opinion great steel.

Got the whole setup on ebay. Knife was $40,sheath was $5,and handles were $15. BK24 itself you can find just about anywhere for $50. If you look around can find for $40. If you what a fixed blade that's a little bigger with D2 look for ONTARIO 8632 RAT-3. It's around $60 also.

Any other small fixed blades you recommend? Looking for one that's small but still good sized. Still fits in the pocket, but big enough to get a decent grip on? Defiantly getting the BK24..

I sure you"ll be happy with the BK24. I am. Great EDC fixed knife. Just got a Scrapyard Scrapper 5 today and am really liking it. Haven't had a chance to use to on much sliced and diced some cardboard up good though. Really comfortable and feels great in the hand. Got it for $115. Little bit more than what your telling yourself your gonna spend:) just like i do. Just $30-50 can get something better and better and better til one day you wind up with a $400 knife. I have yet to spend over $200 on a knife but that day is approaching. I made a promise to myself that i'd never spend over $100 a year ago for a knife and most of the knives i own now are over $100 it is a disease.:) But i would defineatly try the BK24 if you wanna stay at a low price. I'm gonna EDC the Scrapper for next couple weeks wear long enough shirts that it will stay hidden.
