Decently priced D2/s30v steel knife?

If you look around you can find a spyderco manix 2 for about $85. You can usually find the lightweight version in cts-bd1 for about 75

There is a knife supply company that has the same skeleton model small fixed blade in both D2 and S30V both under $50 each. They are not a member here so I cannot mention any names.

Seems I was beaten by a few minutes to mention the Queen Country Cousin. Just a fair warning Queen has been known to give you some fairly obtuse angles on the blade so you may have to reprofile it. Diamonds or silicon carbide (such as norton crystolon $20, or their crystolon economy $6 that you can pick up for at a home improvement store) should make the job of reprofiling relatively painless if you know what your doing. After all it's a fairly thin blade in comparison to modern overbuilt folders and people who complain about it taking forever are usually using arkansas stones or other not so abrasive stones that I usually see.

If your scared of reprofiling by hand and don't have a guided setup you can sent it in to someone like Richard J who I imagine would reprofile for you. Or buy a DMT Aligner clamp to use with a benchstone to help you get a consistent angle.

It sounds like you've decided already, but the Gerber Yari II in S30V can be found for under $85 and isn't terribly huge either. The sheath may not be conducive to your carry methods, though.
