Deception As Defense Re: Knife at Work

A complaint to management about an employee possessing or using a knife is a deliberate attempt to cause trouble for that employee that could potentially include firing for cause.

Under those circumstances, it is proper and reasonable to be deceptive.

Let's get real. People make those kind of complaints to leverage the system to wield authority they don't have. It's cowardly.

I dont hold respect for any grievance that someone cannot address with me directly.

I just think it comes down to not really needing a knife for an office job. Yeah, some will argue it is usful and I agree, but those scissors would be just as useful. People find it odd that a person would bring a tool to work that wasnt really needed. These same people don't understand that we enjoy knives, and think they are neat and fun. If we see from their perspective, it would be like someone bringing a shotgun to the office...I think many would not understnad this and likely be pretty freaked out. AN extreme example as the shotgun has zero utility in the office, but I feel this is how sheeple see knives.

do'nt sweat it , rejoice since you did'nt threaten the fool i do'nt think it was her business. i carry a cuda max 5.5 in blade at times & was cutting up cardboard boxes on warehouse parking lot & a customer saw it and mentioned the manager that i was dangerous. after seeing her reaction & return to office, i went to my truck & switched to a 3 in spyder. later the manager called me to office & asked if i was carrying a deadly weapon. i showed him the spyder & said i was cutting up waste boxes to reduce space in trash, he looked at the knife & said "doe'nt look deadly to me"

I have had a few of those problems over the years, but thankfully I always dodged the bullet as the bosses were cool and I needed a knife for my job.

The only time it was close is when I was selling cars and the Boss was not a knife person really, but he was pretty cool about it. It was a Cold Steel Recon 1 with a 4" blade.
