decided to sell off most of my collection

So sorry to hear this news, Bob. It sounds like you will do anything to help your dear friend through this horrible time, and it speaks volumes about your character and heart. Please keep us posted. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

My condolences Bob, I totally understand I recently lost a good friend to lymphoma. I had that same realization. I sold off some of my most rare historical pieces to donate to his medical fund to help him and his father and mother who were helping with the bills, as the are also a dear friends. Things are just that, things. But every moment we get to spend with the people we love are among the truly valuable things in this life, and for me they top that list. It was good to be able to help fund a few more months of his life. I've found I haven't missed the things I sold to help, but I still miss Newt.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Steve went for some more test and will be getting a clearer diagnosis and possibly a second opinion later this week.

Just for thought....I had a really good buddy (Roger Stump) diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told by 3 different doctors to get his life in order because he had well less than a year to live. He felt fine and would not except it. So he decided to see one more doctor. That specialist said there was a place called Zion that specialized in experimental treatment. Well that was 10+ years ago and he's one of only a few survivors of this most deadly cancers. Still today is 100% cancer free. You can find his story with the American Cancer Society somewhere. I guess what I'm getting at is there's always a possibility and hope.

I don’t have a lot, but my heart is with you and yours Bob. In an effort to help contribute to your cause, I will repost my Monarch and contribute 50 dollars from that sale to you and your loved ones.

Since there was little to no interest in my Monarch, I have decided to keep this gem for myself. Also, money is very tight for me right now, and I will probably have to sell off a number of knives to be able to partake in the next group buy. If Bmurray is interested, I'd be willing to sell you the Monarch for my last asking price minus the 50 dollars I was originally going to contribute to your friend's cancer drive (otherwise I'll just keep this one). This is a limited time offer seeing as the longer I keep it, the more likely I will make it a user. Perhaps you can put it to use, or have better luck selling it than I did! https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/fiddleback-flea-market.1057978/page-680#post-18195862

Hi everyone. I've been talking to a few of you about this. Just an update. They gave Steve approx. 3-6 months. He has it throughout his lungs all the way to his lower colon. A few knife makers agreed to make a knife for a benefit auction and I will be talking with Andy about using this subforum to run it. Thanks to each of you for the prayers and donations. You guys would really like Steve, he's that kind of guy that everyone does.

Bob. I'm sorry.

You know when they discovered Luca's brain tumor it was touch and go. We were lucky - and blessed.

The outpouring of support was incredible. What goes around comes around. My turn.

Let's talk. I'll gladly donate from my collection. Or throw in on a GoFundMe. Or whatever we decide to do.

Tony

Bob - My thoughts and prayers are going out to Steve and his family and also to you and yours as well.

Well just an update from my visit. Steve is now on hospice care, lost a lot of weight and has good days and bad. He's taking a bunch of big pain meds now. Not sure how much time he actually has left, but he's going to make the most of it. He and I talked for a long time last night and he honestly feels there's something not finished that he needs to do and that's why he's still upright. I'm working on bringing his son to Trackrock to get his mind off of it as it will do him some good. It all depends if he can get off work the same time as Adam, since they work at the same place at the same job. If so, would love for everyone to meet Zane and just bs with him (as most of you are experts at) and show him your knives as he loves them as much as we do. I may take up the offer from Jarrett and Russell on some knives for auction for our fund. I'll keep everyone updated. thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers.

Bob

Don't know you or your friend but prayers are on the way for you and your friend.

Well today my good friend Steve lost his battle to a very ugly disease. He will be truly missed by me and many others. Thank you to all that donated to the GoFundMe and offered your prayers.
