Decisions, decisions... What knives for DOVE OPENER this Tuesday???

I'll probably take a handful of throwing knives. I can't do any worse that way than with a shotgun.

I killed 12 birds yesterday! Whoo hoo! And wound up with a bagfull of dove breast that others hunters didnt feel like cleaning. Success! I hope everyone else had a great day of hunting as well.

We did well yesterday! Had to really work for the birds, as they weren't flying too much. Not much sitting and waiting, a lot more walking than usual (still nothing compared to Pheasant hunting though). We hit about 10 different spots, but all 3 of us got our limit by 3pm! :D Lots and lots of birds off the edges of the dirt roads all day. Here's the day's booty:

And of course, here's the obligatory knife content:

We saw LOTS of other wildlife including Deer, Turkey, Skunk, Coyote, Hawks, Owls, and this Bullsnake:

We had a blast, even in the sweltering 91 degree heat. Cheers!

That is a heck of a nice haul. You guys will be eating like kings. Looks like you had a great time. You can keep the snake though.

Looks like an awesome day, our season comes in Saturday. That bull snake would have fooled me for a rattler if you hadn't said any different

That's what Bull snake do; they act like Rattlesnakes for self-defense (I already knew that). But, their heads aren't usually triangular like that, and they can change them when they feel threatened (I just learned that little fact.)

If your not cleaning them in the field take a longer knife to build brush blinds. That's usually what I do. Even for crows . Brush blinds are easy to make and help a lot. And gives a good reason to play with your knife :)
