does anyone decorate their hawks.I am not talking about the fine handmade but the more common ones. These were flea mrkt finds. The bands on the one are eastern diamondback rattler.Other than the carving on the bottom one that I didn't do ,I usually do a little tac work on them.Just something fun to mess around with.I still prefer the plain, all buisness hawks....Mike

Mike,I got them from Crazy Crow Trading Post. They have a web page.Look for crafts and you will see tacks and nails.I use a real small drill bit in a Dremil to drill the hole about 3/4 of the length of the nail or tack. That way the shaft dosen't split.I usually just do them free hand but it is best to measure and mark your spots with a pencil to get your patterns straight and equal.Mine never are...Mike

I like dressing them up also,But will cry if I ever break the handle:D I have started trying to do fringe and bead work lately,That takes some time and patience.

Mike,I also drill all my holes for pins and tacks.I was meaning that when I got the handle done and decided to go play with the hawk and somehow missed something and broke the handle thus starting the decorating proccess all over again.
