Dedicated BK2 Flagship Photo Thread

I cannot find a lot of photos of mine, but here is a favorite from last year. My BK2 driven blade deep into a log.

This one has a MUCH sharper edge than the other...Dont know why though. When I have time I'll rip off these scales and make new ones.

I love the BK2 over most any other knife I have. Its my "the knife", and has been for sometime. Folks feel that a 1/4" thick blade is useless for anything but batonning. Yeah, right.

Thanks Dubs, for this thread.

That's how I feel about the 2 as well, it's "the knife". It's surprising how nimble this blade is, for it's thickness, as well as the fine work it's capable of. Love this shot, btw. I don't think I realized your 2 was jimped.

This is a great idea for a thread.

Thanks, appreciated. Was checking out my 2 today, and the idea popped into my head. I love the smell of chaga burning. I have some, that came with some of the fire pistons I purchased.

I hadn't really intended to post photos of other 2's, but, since this guy only has 5 posts since joining in 2005. I figured he wouldn't be here to do it. Have always admired this blade. From forum member Buckstopper:

Thanks for posting. You did a hell of a nice job on those scales.

This has been a hell of a Becker weekend for me. I didn't actually get out and do too much use... but I finished etching and stripping my BK9 and I also finally stripped my 2nd BK2 that's all set up in the azwelke kydex with the ESEE 5/6 molle back and pouch. Such a great setup... although I wouldn't mind a Skystorm/Sagewood leather setup for it too. :)

Here's some more BK2 pr0n.

^^^That's epic!

Dirtknap: My scales are factory micarta bought from K-Bar. They have become very dark by use and natural oils from my hands + dirt, water and and whatever else they absorbed. My knives are pretty heavy users. The micarta started out very rough but ended up kinda polished by heavy use. They are by no means worn out but they are very worn....

I dont have many pics of my 2, its been smacked through a whole lotta wood since this pic and its still hungry for more.

Damn, the meat returneth. I love the work you did on that 2.

MY GOD mate how did you do that?

Hey Dr Rez. Its just a vinegar patina with some brown mustard on the side lol. I basically made a skull decal to put on the blade..then soaked it in some wine vinegar. Afterwards I took some mustard and smeared it around the design and let sit for about 30 min., then put whole thing back into the cup with the wine vinegar. Rinsed well, then removed the decal, oiled the blade and ta-daaa ! Not permanent like etching (my next project) but it will do.
