Happy Holidays To All. What I have for the first time in years is a Straight Hunter. I usually make slip joints. But you have to go back to your roots once in a while to see if you still have it , an I wanted this for me. But Like most Knifemakers , keeping what we make isn't one of our virtues. So Im selling this sweet little fellow for someones Christmas present, As I have my eye on a Deep Sea Reel on Ebay. so I can always make me another one like this.. Any way the steel is hardened to 63 at first then double tempered two hours to drop it to 61, then two more to bring it to 58-59 which is good enough for having a sharp blade with ease of resharpening plus to give it some benda-bility with out breaking, because this blade is .110 thick at the guard. The hollow grind is really high to make this baby boy cut thru meat easy an skin anything out with ease an good for camp meat cutting also. I did have one issue with this knife an thats where the spacers an back of guard meet. The top of guard an right side of handle has a gap where the stag handle didn't go quite all the way to the back of the guard, so the epoxy filled in the gap. this knife should last for generations if used for cutting an not chopping. the blade is 4 5/8 " long an the knife is 10 " overall from tip to tip of stag. I satin finished this one an hand sanded the flats an polished the guard. The sheath is built to hopefully not let the blade cut thru the sheath if you fall down or off your horse, thats the way I wanted mine to be. my name is stamped on back of sheath an date made 2012. the top false edge was razor sharp but I flattened it a fraction so it doesn't cut you. You can buy it for $SOLD-shipping included. pay pal or money order is best way of payment. Thanks for Looking an may God Bless All of Us.
