Deer Hunting Busse

I plan on using my CABS this year the 4" choiless blade is a winner.
if you are loking for a longer blade I like the SJTAK because they choil makes it good for close work, but long enough if you decide to chop w/ it.
A Boss Jack might be the ticket as well.

I used a GW, modded SS, and Ash1 to help a friend butcher an elk.

Ash1CG was big and heavy, but it worked fine, because the edge was nice and sharp.

The GW is fine for gutting, and cleaning out the animal, and can be used for skinning etc if you have a good edge. The GW is too short if you are actually doing the butchering and making steaks and roasts etc. The SS worked better for that, with its nice straight edge (mine was modded to remove the reverse curve), but there are times where the straight edge hindered the work.

I now have a BAD, and Sarsquatch combo that would work great.

CABS on the way!

I used a Game Warden last year and it worked well. This year I will be using my Hack Skinner coupled with an FSH. And as always, I keep a hatchet in my pack while I am in the woods. This will be my combo when I get out in the woods in a couple weeks. Deer season is so close!. Can't Wait!!

Sweet looking set Jd, have you ever given a Culti a try mated to your Fsh. What no orange handle on your hachet? :D:D

For me, the Boney Active Duty is not only the best Busse for deer hunting, but it's as good as any knife I own or would want for that use. The size, blade shape and handle are all "just right" for field dressing deer.

I have a Culti but it is part of my fishing combo. I keep this set in my tackle bag for when I get on the water fishing. Culti is good for cleaning fish, except for filleting them. But that is what fillet knives are for. It is a great knife, but I prefer a little more belly on my skinning blades. I will have to see how the Hack Skinner does this year.

Cheers guys . I will hunt me down a Cultie and go from there.

Great choice! They have alot of belly, .125 thin, and a straight handle. Thats the one:thumbup:

I like more drop in the point for a fishing knife, but the belly of a Cultie is perfect for skinning.
