I have just aquired a new Military (cpm440v, plain edge), and have discovered that the ball detent DOES NOT engage at all when you close it. The blade would need to close "more" for the detent hole and ball to line up, but of course the stop pin doesn't allow it.... Also, another gripe I have with it, although it is small: the grooves on the back of the hump (the thumb ramp), are uh, uneven. I presume they are supposed to be perfectly straight grooves, but mine are all wavey, like what might happen if one were to try to route a groove free hand. Tell me this isn't normal....

anyway, I'm posting this because I emailed Sal and Danelle and didn't get a response, but saw that Sal is still replying to posts after I sent the email.... maybe you didn't notice my email...

So Sal, can I send this military back to you guys or what?

Went back to check..past 2 weeks worth of email (about 600) and didnt see anything from you..my apologies. I do answer every single email, usually within 24 hours.

Please do send your Military in to us and let us have a look at it. The things you mentioned should not be present. Send it Insured, and enclose a note stating what you have said here.

I can attest to the fact that my military does NOT have that detent problem -- in fact, the detent on the military is by far the strongest I have ever seen.

However, the thumb grooves are kinda free-hand looking; I consider it custom
