Here is a second run around the track for a swell edc knife! Good evening all knife fans. Winter weather is moving in and Colorado's high country is getting a thick white blanket. We are 5000 feet below the Grand Mesa and can watch the 10,000 foot top of the mesa getting hammered! I have made this model previously, and feedback from my wonderful customers and others said "Do it again!" With that in mind here is another for you to take a look at. The blade/handle geometry makes this knife a tremendous slashing instrument. The knife comes with a versatile kydex sheath that with simple turns of the screws allow for both right and left hip carry or scout mount with the included belt clip. It is pictured set up for left side scout mount. In the photo of the bottom of the tang one can see two tiny dents on opposite sides of the spine almost as though pinched somehow. I have no idea what I did or why I did not see this little cosmetic booboo before I was doing the hand sanding. This is reflected in the price. My knives are warranted for life against failures in normal use. I ship to your door with USPS priority domestic service and am amenable to exceptions. I sent a knife to Germany last Monday for example. Thanks for taking a look and hope you like what you see. Grady at BROKEN BRANCH CLAY & STEEL.

Hot damn Grady!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a mixture of the chisel grind of the american tanto and the wharncliff. Guess that Rocky Mountain high does inspire good things... Waiting with baited breath on the 4 inch version as well as another one of your bowie designs.. I'm looking forward to this like a fat cat on a piece of tuna..

Hee hee, that's funny! Hope all is well in Guam, Bill. Might be a while but larger ones will appear. Thanks for the cool compliment. I neglected to thank you for your great suggestions and ideas. You are the only professional martial artist I know much less a teacher of knife techniques. Super proud to have one in your carry rotation!

This is top notch Grady slaughter Grady slaughter You’ve really got this design locked in. I still love my wharnie from you, but this one is super looking. Whomever ends up with this, will have a fine companion that they can trust.
Your purple micarta got this one rolling...been several more since then, so I decided it is a "model" and have a good sturdy template. Thank you for your encouragement and sage design suggestions. That folks like you want to help me keep making my Broken Branch knives and getting a better handle on things, pun intended, so I can make better knives as we go is a grand thing for me

Howdy out there. I got wrapped up in talk of a line of purple handled wharncliffes and left out the OG if that means among the first in a group. Well known and loved maker John Cahoon made a sweet curvaceous wharncliffe with purple richlite scales that I was lucky to get a few years back. I think someone teased him regarding the color when it was posted, kiddingly I assume, but I think it is great and have another wharncliffe in purple micarta in the works.

Grady, really like the look of this one. Great lines and as far as purple goes, people need to remember it was the color of royalty for centuries (of course as an American I could care less but like the color)

Good point Bobthebrewer! I do not really understand what might make some folks see purple as inappropriate for knife scales or whatever the point of the teasing objection was intended to be. Mostly, thanks for the kind words.
