Redman suit covered in Kevlar. It would be a touch cumbersome though . . .
 
Going to the head wouldn't be much fun in that suit either. :D

once when i was at a knife shop, the owner was trying on a pair and talking about how it was supposed to work
this sneaky bastard friend of his sneaked out a big knife, walked over and slashed his palm

What a lousy, insidious way to advertise. Not even trying to be discrete. America is shivering for anything that is even the slightest bit alien and offcourse this is exploited... A knife-attack is a knife attack, no matter the morals/beliefs of the assaillant.

koolstof, you may be overinterpreting. (Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers!) We have a big and diverse society here, with some areas that almost think others are a foreign country :)

But a lot of us get along across lines that according to the media are practically war zones. They aren't. Everyone "different" is not targeted every day. Lynch mobs do not rule the streets.
 
Mr. Benyamin, yes, I do tend to exagerate...

However... a country that increases it's defense budget in 1 (one) year with the Gross National Income of Italy, a country of the G7 (!), to guard of some maniacs... Well, it does not seem quite credible to me.

The land of the free has also imposed their Patriot thingie and other stringent laws on their citizens. Really, I'm a cop here in lil' old Belgium and if we were to detain someone randomly without answering to anyone... Hmmm, that is a defenite Nono. I've met a bastard or two already during my work but arbitrary use of force...?

Project Echelon monitors my every move (rest assured *grin*), and that is even illegal.

Killing of some 50 civilians at a wedding and sending in ground troops to sweep the whole mess under the carpet... Just imgine what we don't know... Those people, eating their goats or whatever where somebodies mother or son too, not collateral damage. Does anyone seem to mind? If some Canadians came staggering in and did the same thing...
It's not a inherit flaw or anything to the US. Americans aren't bad people. Powers corrupts ALWAYS and the establishment covers it's back.

Countries like China are develloping to a huge power, the European Union is steadily growing (does however not have the major language advantage).

I'm sure that the streets look quite normal over there but that does NOT reassure me.

I seem to be one of the three weirdo's from The X-files... And yes, I do have a girlfriend :-p

Forgot one thing... the popular press amuses itself here showing certain people doing certain dumb things... Looking through binoculars with caps on, reading a book upside down, making a fool of yourself when talking to other people. All very hilarious but they all seem to miss the point. Their is a new cold war breathing down our necks and if anyone engages their will only be losers.
