Define durability

Thats why I said "relatively"! :)

No worries! I wasn’t being critical. Just reconnecting with that old feeling we all had when we came into this after having owned AUS-8, 8cr13mov, or lower qualities of steels.

A durable knife is a knife owned by a master.
Definition of " A Master " : A crafts person who sharpens least but has the sharpest tools.

May all your tools be durable.

A knife is durable if it is able to reliably perform the functions for which it was designed without failure.

There are obviously various degrees of durability depending on function.

An extremely fine edged kitchen knife only needs to be durable enough to stand up to typical kitchen fare; vegetables and flesh.

A survival chopper has completely different requirements, and needs to be considerably more durable.

A kitchen knife wouldn't last long as a survival chopper, however the kitchen knife has a perfectly acceptable level of durability for its intended use.

Rbid: yeah I have so many knives with junk steel because I didn't know about good steels lol.

Right on guys, thanks for the help again,

Bo
