Definition: Gents Knife

What would you say the definition of a gents knife would be. A blade less than 3 inchs? One that fits in your pocket? Any ideas?
 
To me, a gents knife should small, thin, and attractive (sounds like a cute girl too!) I have heard people describe fairly large knives like Spyderco Vieles as gents knives but I think an ideal gents knife should have an OAL of 6.5" or less. This is because a gents knife would probably be worn with a suit or used in areas like an office or a church or an airport where a large or even medium sized knife would draw too much negative attention.
 
Wow, this question is a poser! I know so few gentlemen--just knife people who can fake short periods of not drooling on the rug. I like 4" MT Tantos, and 50 years from now after all of this sharpening, they will be 'under 3 inches.' I'd say, buy tactical knives, and wash those dang blue-jeans once in a while. Chew a couple of times before you gulp. Perhaps no one will notice.--OKG
 
A gents knife is whatever you want it to be,
and of course depending on your location and the company you keep. enough said!
 
A "Gent's" knife OBVIOUSLY can't belong to any guy here!!!

I kind of like Anthony's responce, Something at least a little fancy, that will go into pants or vest pocket without making a lump.

Two of mine that come to mind are a Winchester two blade Congress, and my Gerber Paul II, several others in between.

Isn't it interesting that a 'gentleman' used to carry a sword, but now is supposed to be limited even in his knife choices? Buncha politically-correct freaks out there...

Gent's knife? Carry it in a leather sheath, not a kydex one!

P.S., yes, that referred to fixed-blades, and yes, I do think of fixed-blades as gent's knives, as long as the person carrying the knife in question is actually a gentleman.
