OK, it's safe to come out...I think.

Anybody still around after that meltdown?

Hope Spark found the answer. I bet he's pretty P.O'd.

LT, Larry, Phil, Steve.......Tim? Anyone else survive? :(

Hope it wasn't that picture...."Newsflash, the Dorian Gray effect nuked the much-loved Schrade Forum........" Film at 11:00.

I'm here, Bill. Let me open up my new Schrade 'navitool' and try out the bright red LED lite, that oughta alert the others. Or the way cool signal mirror. And for getting LT's attention, I'll just blow that wonderful whistle.

And all I really needed was a simple compass. But it does have that as well. Along with a coupla screwdrivers, a knife blade a.....

I turned on e-mail notification for the schrade board and every time some posts I get notified.. I'll turn it off after the yoo-yoo servers stop yoo-yooing.

Phil,
Do not use that without a tin helmet until all lifeforms are settled here on the Schrade Forums. We might be transported back to Providence, R.I. if you aren't careful.

Phil,

How do you like that Navitool? I picked one up new for $17 on ebay afew months back. Haven't used it yet, but I will this summer. It'll go nice on those cub scout hikes and such. Looks like a nice solid compass, but I wish the lighter compartment was waterproof.

Your review?? Anyone else?

The nav tool is a nice idea but truthfully if it had a GPS, and a few other hi tech gadgets it could be indispensible. It also would be incredibly expensive. LT.

Steve, I think you wrote that you were going camping the weekend of the Wolverine knife show (April 23-24-25) but if you can make it, I'd like to meet you in person. Isn't it great when the choices we have to make in life are all fun things to do?

The Navitool is cool. It is the IQuip, without the electronics. In fact, you can send $100 to Schrade for an upgrade kit. Among other useful features of the Iquip, it will give you a digital readout of rate of ascent and descent. So, as you fall off the mountain, you can see how fast you are dropping. But I think the navitool is all I need. I just carried it on one little morning hunting trip, didn't get much use out of it, can't give a real report. I thought perhaps the big bulk of the body of the tool would make using the tools difficult, but not really. I sawed through a branch, the typical great Saw blade that Schrade makes.. the knife is sharp and cuts, the scissors are nice and large. I like the blade-tool locking mechanism, same as Schrade uses on the big multi-tool... which is the best one of those I have ever used. And see...??? that whistle was loud, our LT heard it and reported in! Anyway, Glenn, your cubbies will love all the gadgets.

I've been blowing all my knife selling money lately on Scrade products. Recall the discussion LT and I had about that Imperial Survival and it's bigger, newer brother, the Schrade Extreme BT01? Well, I bought the big Schrade. OMG, what a knife. Impressive as all get out. A handful of death, destruction and cold steel. More on these later.

Nice to be able to communicate with all you guys! Hope all of you are well.

Phil

Hey Phil,

I'm gonna be gone the weekend before that, so I might be able to make it (depending on my wife's "honey-do" list ;) ). If I can, I'll let you know here, or PM you over at KF. I have a old friend who is going, to, so I may just have to go.

I was looking at a nice Old Timer two-bladed folding hunter at a local antique store, but someone snuck in and bought it before I could. The nerve!
I've sorta been on a Bark River kick lately, to be honest. Those are awesome knives, but they wrek havoc on my Schrade, Case, and SAK budget...

That survival Schrade you have is cool! It's too bad that Schrade (Gerber used to be real bad about this, too) keeps cutting all their good products anymore in favor of quasi-tactical gunk.
