Dejavoo frame lock project

Dan I have not done any in tip up no. I almost did for a potential customer of the mini Dejavoo I did first but he was second in line wanting it and the first guy took it as it was.

This one is done. Blade is perfectly centered when its closed, the detent is perfect, the action is perfect as is the lock up and overall I'm quite happy with it. It has a .060 lock relief thickness where I thinned it from the .140 stock titanium I used so I could spring the lock. I'd call this one pretty flawless I think. I already see that I need to bend the clip a tad more to bring it down to touch the body a bit more and I see one little spot where I need to re bead blast but otherwise its there I think. The good news is I get to carry it the rest of today and most of tomorrow morning to make sure its where I want it and that everything checks out on it. The bad news is that when it checks out as up to my standards I then have to mail it home! :D

I doubt seriously if my friend that owns this one will ever be inclined to put it back to the way it was from the factory with that liner lock set up but that possiblity is there if one wanted to the way I did this one and the first Mini Dejavoo and most others whenever possible.

Weight is a very good question. This one weighs in at 4.3 ounces meaning it went up in weight from the factory 4.10 onces to what it is now. Not a bad trade off at all and certainly not enough to notice in the hand.

Now on only two pics. I have learned in owning this digital that one thing is evident in uploading them. When you get your own forum you get 50 MB of free space to load up pics. I've already loaded up 20MB and I'm only on page 4 in my forum so I need to slow it down or I'm going to be at the max soon. So, I am going to try to limit the number of larger pics I post. These digitals even when I use the pic resizing tool are still quite large so from now on I simply can't post four and five pics of knives like I've been doing. In fact if any of you guys have some pics you like save them to your hard drives because I'm going to be through some threads and removing some of the ones I deem no longer necessary to get some MB space back.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, is all I can say. This thing looks like a monster and nothing like the more sleek politically correct factory model. As my friend Steve would say, "a Man's lock";)

I guess I'm just a pack rat and always think I'll have a need for the extra parts.

I just simply cannot believe the speed at which you do your magic. She's a beaut, and I can't wait to see her. Much thanks and appreciation.

THAT, ladies and gentlemen, looks to be the one of the best utility/SD platforms I've ever seen! Phenomenal work yet again STR!

Untamed,

my thoughts exactly. Lockup was fine for utility. But, to be pull double duty for SD, It had to made STRonger. (sorry for the pun)
