I just purchased a DEK1 in AEB-L off the forum. I am excited about getting this one in hand. This is my first CPK and I know it won’t be my last. I have a friend that has the EDC model and he won’t let me have it as it’s a safe queen. Maybe I can score one at some point. Now of course I NEED the DEK2 to go with. I plan on using this one a lot. One question I have is there somewhere to get replacement scales? I see some with custom looking scales that look awesome. I sent a message to Carothers and asked as I’m wanting some natural Micarta scales for the DEK1. Will post pics once I get it. For those that carry this everyday what sheath do you find works the best. I’m in NC so I technically can’t conceal so not worried about that. I’m a construction superintendent and carry a fixed blade daily so that’s not a problem. I think the one I’ve got coming is the taco sheath. The seller wasn’t sure since he packed it up awhile ago. I’ve seen the mashed cat sheaths with what appears to be a nylon belt loop on them that looks perfect. Any suggestions would be great.
 
Congrats! DEK1 is one of my favorites, I think you’ll really like it.

The shop may have some plain micarta scales in stock but I asked Jo about it recently and she said they were running pretty low on DEK scales. If you post a WTB somebody might offer you a set, a lot of guys buy multiple sets or make a fancy set of wood ones.

The kydex CPKs come with is good quality but I really like leather for EDC. I have a couple cpirtle cpirtle sheaths for the DEK that are great and I have another really nice UF2 sheath by duramax duramax , I’m sure he could make you one for a DEK. Lots of other talented leather workers here as well, anywhere between full time and hobbyist.

I’ve looked at them. I really think the next I NEED is the EDC model of some sort but haven’t seen any come out of hiding. I know I won’t be quick enough to get one through drops. Little more hope on for sale thread.

Another choice in leather is Lorien Lorien , one of the designers of the EDC. All are great depending on your needs.😉

Regarding EDC and Dek3, one's too small and one's too ugly :)

I recommend to go the other direction, DEK2, FK2, BFK, UF2, DEF2, SDFK, HDFK, Shiv, Behemother, etc. Large knives are sexy !

My CPK EDC knives might get the most carry time/usage out of all my CPK patterns. 🤔

Nathan is supposedly thinking about a new EDC 1.X pattern?

Maybe that will happen once the shop processes and clears out the backlog with the older K20 and Shiv pre-orders?

(Edit: Starting in about ~ 2 weeks. ;)🤣)
 
Well I’ve got to say y’all are no help. Thats what my wife will say. Someone reached out with a new DEK2 offer and of course I can’t say no without hurting feelings. So actually I was doing it to be kind and considerate. That’s what I’m going with. This is a great community. Thanks all.
