Delays on refunds from Survive

It has been pointed out in another thread that myself and at least 5 others(in that thread) have requested refunds from Survive and have not received them in the time frame we were told by Survive. I am starting this thread in the hopes that Ellie will chime in and let us know what is going on and when we will receive our refunds. Maybe she did not see them in the other thread because it is so extensive.

Can you please let us know whats going on Ellie? Thanks.

I did receive my refund but had to call into the shop. I emailed twice and Jordyn told me that Ellie was busy (and I have no doubt that she was) in the shop and would take care of it when she had a chance. After a week passed, I called and a check was sent to my residence.Calling is probably the best route to take. For what it's worth, Jordyn was extremely polite and helpful.

I requested a refund for my 4.1 six days ago, so I think I'll give them a ring if I still haven't heard anything by the end of next week.

Hopefully Jordyn/Ellie will understand my strange foreign accent :p

I thought I'd be getting used to waiting for my 4.7 preorder by now, but stillllllllll wants it soooooooo badly...........

Email sent yesterday 11/11 for cancellation and refund on all my orders. No response yet.

Put in for a refund. Was told it would take a few days via. paypal. Been a full week now and no sign yet. Would really appreciate a prompt refund as the money is needed to pay some of my own bills. If the refund is coming soon, thank's in advance.

Regards..

I requested a refund over a week ago and Jordyn answered the email in 2 business days.
Jordyn stated that she would notify Ellie that I would like to cancel my order and to allow a few days for processing.
She also stated that she would send me a message once my order had been cancelled and my refund was sent in the mail.
5 business days after that last contact and I still have yet to hear from anyone at S!K so I sent an email requesting an update.

Still waiting for a response....

How many people are waiting for refunds? For the longest time any concerns were met with "just get a refund". Doesn't look good when even that option is slow.

Something to consider into the time frame, I think that if the transaction goes through PayPal it takes 5 days after the refund has been credited to you for it to be cleared through PayPal. That's how I remember things going from an unrelated transaction anyways.

It can take time to clear (IF) the sender has a low status but even then you see a pending action instantly.

I didn't realize there was a status thing involved, I'd paid for a knife on the custom maker board here then found out it had gone to someone else, it took a bit for the funds to clear. Thanks for the clarification.

Regarding PayPal fund clearance:

If there are no actual funds in the PayPal account or not enough to cover whatever it was supposed for, then PayPal would go to the backup funding source as set up by the PayPal account holder. If the backup source is a credit card then it is most likely an instantaneous fulfillment but if the backup source is a bank account, it will be showing as pending just like how the e-Checks used to show in the old days. This may have nothing to do with the PayPal account holder's "low standing" although that explanation is also valid in some cases.

For full disclosure purposes I have been on both eBay and PayPal since 2002 with over 30,000 transactions, so I've seen a thing or two ;)

You shut your mouth, no one wants to hear your facts and truths here!

How ya doing buddy!?😂

Thanks for the clarification. So it is reasonable to assume given the facts.. that there are/were not funds available to cover the current que. of refund requests. Crossing fingers that condition changes asap.

I guess my only concern here is that in the past, refunds seemed like they happened very quickly. They were almost nice about it. Kind of a, "Okay, you don't want to wait, thanks anyway and here's your money back".

Now suddenly, amidst all the conjecture about the business imploding financially, LE's and Pre-Orders being sold despite the overwhelming negativity surrounding that practice, refunds are not being issued, and in fact, seemingly are being ignored, with some people waiting days and going into weeks. Add in Guy's statement of selling those to cover monthly costs and the fact that you'll be banned if you open a dispute of any kind.

Well, not being a financial genius, it appears there are indeed some serious money troubles going on.

If I had any future pre-orders on the books, I'd definitely cancel (I know, that would be the end of S!K).

BUT, according to Ellie, my one and only knife on order is due to ship in about another week or so (my "pre-sale" 2.7 from July that was going to be done "in a couple months"), so I'm holding out huge amounts of hope here. I know, I know, they've never met a timeline, but I got that info from Ellie and have to believe that she would not lie to me directly on the phone.

So, according to S!K's recent posts, it's all rainbows and unicorns and we're almost half way through the mythical November turnaround.

But from here on the outside looking in, with the absence of any real info from S!K, the refund issue looks like a death knell to me and probably others as well.

Please let me be wrong (and get my 2.7 before the walls cave in, or I go insane).

Seems like the SK! business model may be "stalled out" in one area. Well, ok the far future may be an unknown but lets look at what we do know. They have pictures of stacks and stacks of 7/7 knives. So if the "engine" is stalled out, perhaps it just needs a little push to get over this hump. Presales of those 7/7s may get the engine running again. Given the likelyhood (pictures) and speed (next in que) of the 7/7's they seem like the safest and quickest way to get a sweet SK knife in uncertain times. And you will be investing into keeping the engine running. Seems like a WIN WIN for the fans to get some presales.

Ahhhhh, I can't take it anymore. It's queue.

Queue! :D

On topic, I'm also waiting for a refund, and while I won't say when specifically, it was in October. I don't want to make a phone call and also don't want to continually pester them via email, but the wait is getting a bit excessive...

Just realized you could've meant "cue"

Or...... I could have meant question.. (next in question). :o

Your options are different then mine because I ordered much longer ago. Should they prioritize refunds by first come first serve, or by the length of time the original order has been on the books?

I can not speak for Survive! but I rarely keep more than $1K in my PayPal account and ever since they made their policies even more skewed toward the payment issuer, I try to keep my average daily balances in the $500 range just enough for refund requests (which I do not get too many of) or when I make sundry business related purchases. I will not go into as to why I exactly distrust PayPal with keeping large sums of money in there (large enough relatively speaking to me) but again I must stress that lack of enough cash in Survive!'s PP in order to honor immediate refunds may have nothing to do with the state of their financial health. If the refund is being issued through their bank account whether by way of a business check or PayPal as a transaction conduit, the better barometer would be the completion of that refund process as opposed to the guess work as to why or why not funds are avail in their PayPal.
