I would suggest listing this on a rare books forum, as well as eBay.

That volume is possibly worth over $3K... but the thing about book collecting is actually finding someone willing to pay what the volume is worth. Price it too high and you can be sitting on it for years. If that is an actual first edition, with a centuries old printing date, it will sell fast at $750. GLWTS.
 
$750 is a very fair price for that.

You, as a private seller, are unlikely to get $1000+ for that.

Consider taking it to a used bookstore that specializes in rare books and asking them to sell it on consignment online... or simply post it on craigslist.

Be happy with $750.

Expect to be offerred considerably less.

Remain firm... but if someone offers you $650-$700 take it... not really a popular book, and few people read Latin anymore.

I am assuming the binding is intact and there is no indication of torn/missing pages, water damage, or mold?
