Doesn't look like your pics are working. I assume this is Daniel Winkler right?

Also, did you address this issue with him? I mean before going public?

It depends on the grind. If it is a chisel type grind then it may be correct. If it is more of a traditional V grind then there is something up. It is difficult to tell from your photos. Take a picture of the profile and post a picture of the entire knife. The model would help too

Blade looks straight to me, the grind may not be syametrical but that shouldn't affect function or strength. If you are not happy then you need to address your concerns with the maker directly, they are the only ones who can judge if what you are seeing is truest a defect or a design intention.

It doesn't look right to me, but the photos are not very good -- blurry and not completely lined up with the spine of the knife.

Pictures really don't show up well, what model is this. Dan is a stand up guy what was his response.

Send in an email and he will take care of you. Don't sweat it. I stupidly broke the tip on my Operator then emailed him...between the email, sending off the knife and me getting the knife back reground personally by him it was like 4-5 days. Mr. Winkler is as good a man as there is.

What model knife is it?

So those that are more knowledgeable can have something to reference.

There was a thread where a guy had an issue with a knife. The guy beat on it a little bit and it obviously wasn't hardened. Daniel said wow, that knife sucks. Send it back and I'll get you a good one.

The guy then got a good one. It was pretty amazing, tbh. Look the thread up.

Here's a view of the spines of a Winker II Belt knife and Spike. The Spike is on top. (Not my photos)

I don't believe they are chisel ground.
I would contact the Craftsman and send any and all photos he wants.

Best of luck.

Daniel Winkler is as good as it gets about standing behind his blades. If there is a problem rest assured he will get it squared away.
Good point made above, at least reach out to the maker before you slam them in a public forum. As I read your post you were not slamming him just asking if this was a normal grind.
As you can tell I love my Winklers, are they perfect no but neither am I. They are just great hard use tools.
