I love Chris Reeve knives. They're classy and badass. I think it's about time Chris Reeve comes out with a new design. How about a sebenza with titanium bolsters with carbon fiber inlays? Even visa versa! What do you guys think? Do you guys have any ideas. I moved to Idaho about a month ago, and I'm about 20 to 30 minutes from his shop. I'm not sure if they have retail store but I'm going to find out. Even a tour would be fantastic!

Chris Reeve has been separated from CRK a while ago.
Anyway, I would love to see Umnumzaan with an Insingo blade. Possibly a front flipper option.

Umnuzzan without the harpoon blade shape will be nice (no tanto please)

A front flipper by CRK will nice

Engraving services with possibility to upload your own graphic design

Introduction of a new steel

More finish/anodization options

Possibly a front flipper option.
That ... that is actually a really cool idea. South African knifemakers have been at the forefront of the front flipper movement. It harkens back to Chris' origins and works mechanically.

I hope that is the kind of attitude that Anne & Co. will have with future projects. Their latest quasi-collaboration unfortunately did not.

This thread comes at an interesting time for me. I actually was in Boise last Monday and had the opportunity to meet Tim and get a guided tour around their production facilities. I didn't know all of the background from this thread (or discuss it with Tim) but I can comment on what I saw and how Tim described the business. Tim had no idea who I was and it was very cool of him to spend 30 minutes with me. In general terms, they produce more than 1,000 knives per month and are not a low volume custom shop. They outsource some basic functions, utilize computer assisted machines for other core processes and utilize hand operated machines and hand finishing for other important steps. I was impressed that their core processes ensure trueness, flatness and accuracy down to very small, tight tolerances. During each step of production that I looked at, Tim reinforced how closely the company tracked those tolerances. So feel comfortable that nothing has changed in that regard. Another item that impressed me was that Tim was not focused on upping production or cutting corners to make more money. It did sound like Tim is interested in evolving the company to provide new and cool products and features to their customers in addition to the established products. That does not feel unnatural to me but someone may feel otherwise. I left feeling that the product was worth the money and that I probably needed one in my pocket. I am a true knife addict after all, Ha ha.

Just toured the CR facility last week (I posted the above in a recent troll thread that was worrying about the decline of CRK because his wife and son currently run the business) .

They have finished knives to look at but the Sebenzas are not available for sale because they are 90+ days behind on new orders.

I would love to see annual zaans or at least some variation other than standart and WC.

Additionally i would love to see some 3D clip options (like mnandi) at least as a seperate purchase option.

But a brand new blade design on any of the folders would be acceptable or at least some slight changes like a swedge they did on the LDC regulars

FFG, steel options, a "medium" 21. Even without the grind change I would still love to see other steel options as well as a medium sized sebenza.

Knife art has a cross hatch graphic design that I think is new I'm not sure I haven't seen it before and I check knife art every 4 months or sooner. You guys are doing great with responses. My phone hasn't been giving me notifications. I also need to read the rest. Good recommendations I will pass these along when I get there.

Thank
You for responding to the thread. I honestly didn't think they would have knives for sale. And that's okay maybe a sneak peak walk around or something. Probably not going to happen for me but I'll keep hoping. However I do need to buy my dad a nayla for his kitchen because he loves culinary and he about shit his pants when I bought him a clip point large sebenza 21 for his birthday.

I agree with the above poster FFG medium 3.25" Sebenza- would be happy with just the 3.25" part
You never know-Tim and Anne may have different idea's then Chris. Though he still is listed as a designer and consultant to the company.

I haven't been into knives all that long. Maybe a year and a half and crk being one of my first knives. Where did he go to?
I'd love to see a flipper design.

NOT gonna happen ever I think. CRK is tight with Crucible if anything it will be a Crucible steel but also I asked that question to Anne Reeve like 6 months ago and she stated that in the near future blade steel will remain same but you never know in the future she said.

Besides when you go from S35VN what would be the next steel upgrade choice? S60V (heard it was D/C), 20CV, S90V or S110V would LOVE THATTTTT but hardly doubt it. They would have to raise the prices a bit I think which depending on the price increase I would be OK.

Did I request a medium 21? That would be dandy. Saying it twice for reinforcement.

21 with FFG but same kind of blade shape and rounded spine. Wish they made a Zaan with the 21 lockbar, not a fan of stop pins through blades acting as blade stops, seen too many blades crack.

I would not call the thread a troll thread the OP had a legitimate concern that the quality appeared to be declining in their experience. I do think that really the issue is more the fact the CRK is an over-hyped brand leading to higher level of expectations from their products than a production factory is usually expected to do.
