I really need to learn Morse code
^This. Me too. Always wanted to, but apparently never had "enough" of a want to actually go out and learn it. I just noticed that it WAS morse code, and then searched for a translator real quick.
Here is what I've been using to make myself feel less useless in this thread.

Gotta think of it as a language, read it and type it long enough you will learn to just look at it and know what it means... I will be driving and tap on the car door the alphabet that i know. I started by learning s.o.s and tapping that on the car first.

I'm a little slow at it now. Need to start practicing it again. Use it or loose it. And this thread segment has shown me I stink at it now.
First learned signaling in Boy Scouts. I learned flags - semaphore and single flag Morse. ( My troop was too poor to own one of those fancy buzzer toys.)
I buckled down learning it if after the news reports came out on the VNW POW who blinked the word TORTURE, while being forced to read some propaganda BS confession. That showed that you never knew when knowing Morse might come in handy.
Later added light while in the Navy. Already knowing audible Morse made light Morse easy, if for nothing else, it was always slower than sound. Sure messed with poor Signalmen's mind that some officer could read their BS messages they were passing between ships.
10 - 15 minutes a day will eventually get you there - here's one online source
