I have owned both the O1 and D2 versions. I gave the O1 to a friend who really liked it. Still have the D2 version, but I preferred the blade in O1. Both are easy to sharpen, but the D2 seems to have more delicate edge characteristics. Tends to get rolls under fairly normal use where the O1 version didn't. Both have full scandi edges with no secondary bevels, so it's understandable that the edges aren't that robust, but for my usage the O1 was noticeably less susceptible to damage.

Can't go wrong with any of them, in my opinion. Great knives. If you get one of the other steels, I'd love to hear how your edge holds up under normal cutting chore usage.
