Not just a bad deal but a raw deal as well. Buy from the exchange here and you won’t have this problem.

I hope you used PayPal goods and services. If so, file a claim and get the refund process started.

Not a good deal simply because they misrepresented what was being sold.

I don't necessarily think that's a terrible deal overall, depending on how easily: the tip is repaired, the G10 is cleaned up, and the pocket clip screw is removed and replaced. That being said, if it was me, I'd be furious and request a refund. My (and your) time is probably worth more than that.

Did you buy this on eBay? If so, you should know that eBay pretty much always takes the side of the buyer on cases like this. If you have to file a claim, you will win this one.

I find it very hard to believe this is a serious post.

Yea i was thinking this as well. I think the OP wants someone to tell him that he didn’t get ripped off. But sorry man, you got ripped off hard and you’re going to need to do something about it.

The price you paid is a good deal for "excellent condition"
A broken tip and a missing/broken screw, is NOT excellent condition. Boken product + broken/missing hardware is poor condition. Fair- at best, if everything else was mint, but you claim even the handle is stained... Poor.

The fact you have to ask whether a broken knife claimed as "excellent" condition, and being sold for just 25% under the going retail price, (but blatently broke and stained AND blatenly misrepresented as such in the ad), was a "good deal" or not is beyond me...
FWIW, no, it was a horrible deal.
It was a horrible deal under the circumstances. The misrepresentation alone was enough to make it a bad deal. You have every right to be pissed about this. I would seek a refund somehow and if it through PayPal, file a complaint and request a refund. I would certainly copy the ad listing for your records just in case.

I bought a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in s110v for $120, The guy had it as excellent condition with a mirror polished edge and the from the pictures it looked fine, when I got it the end of the tip is broke off , the edge wasnt mirror or even hair cutting sharp, the G-10 is stained and scuffed and one of the pocket clip screws Is missing with half of it stuck in the handle , the action is very smooth tho , a new one goes for $165 give or take , do you think I got ripped off on this ? ( side note the seller is still claiming it’s excellent Condition and said “ I forgot the screw was even missing and it doesn’t effect the pocket clip” )

You got a bad deal. I’d try and get my money back.

From a passive observer point of view, one could interpret this as if the OP figured out a way to get a knife valuation without a gold membership. lol Just sayin'

On a more definitive note, why would you think receiving a knife that looked different than the pictures was anything other than a rip off?

Very good observation Dan  But I would expect nothing less from a fellow Bass fisherman ;)

See post #21.

If the knife was misrepresented, yes, you got a bad deal.
