I'm in debt to Stacy and a few others here for all their help knowledge and encouragement as I learn. I'm not great at using the internet but it takes me about 30 seconds to come up with a bunch of pics of stacy's knives.
 
Something that is over looked is that Stacy is a Moderator he is not required to post any helpful information to questions. Stacy is gracious enough to offer up his Time, knowledge, and experience to those coming here seeking help.
 
Thanks for the kind words folks. The show at Harrisonburg has very good. Last night at the banquet I received two awards - Best factory folder for a Freidmann and Lauderjung 1873-1880 multiblade with ivory handles and for Best Custom Collection of Knives. Oe nice visitor was an older forumite - David Stiffle. When I home I'll try and post some photos.

This is the internet , if you need "proof" a quick google search should quench your thirst. When did it turn into you have to show pictures or else ... ?? Some of the best knifemakers in the world post here alot and share their knowledge and help people asking questions ( like Stacy does) and I dont remember them showing lots of pictures in shoptalk for "proof" , do you show them the same disrespect because they dont show enough pictures in shop talk to make you happy? Maybe if people started worrying more about themselves instead of what others are doing :rolleyes:

I'm not saying anything about Stacy, he's always given me good advice and he seems very experienced and knowledgeable in my opinion.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make about Devin and Don Hanson though, both of them have shared pictures in the past. I'm pretty sure Devin shared a picture of a damascus kitchen knife within the last month. Both of them have links to their websites where dozens of pictures and some videos are shared.

Again I really don't understand this issue some have with Stacy, but I really don't understand why you tried to use Devin and Don Hanson as examples in your post either.
 
To start with I have nothing but TOTAL respect for everybody I mentioned.

Look I didn't say anything about Stacy besides that I respect his knowledge and experience, I didn't say anything about the amount of pictures he posts either.

My entire reply was simply stating I didn't understand why you chose them as examples of experts who share advice and rarely share pictures yet receive respect when clearly both of them have plentiful pictures as proof if anyone wants to click a hyperlink.

I understand your underlying point, simply not how you stated it with the examples you presented. I don't want to argue with you though, it just simply didn't make sense to me.

Listen fellows, I think you have taken a thread meant to be sort of a lighthearted "meet-up" thread and seen it as a critique thread. When I was saying goodbye to Dan at the show, I told him that if he was posting on on Shop Talk, he could vouch that I am a real person. His post was a fun n way to say that and not meant as anything more.

I think Natlek missed the humor/irony because of a language barrier. Lets all let it go for this thread. I'll post some photos in a new thread after I get caught up at work.
 
I think what lead the tone of the thread was the original title Stacy which Nathan changed
But I think everyone knows dan means well
 
Still new to the forum after a very, very, very long time,so I know that know one knows me.l do not have a computer, or a lot about this phone.l still have not posted any pics. yet
Does that mean that I haven't been making knives for the past 30 year's?

Well....it certainly depends on who is viewing the threads and their position on "Pic's or it didn't happen"....some people want to show every little detail of their daily efforts in order to support their experience and share their accomplishments No Problemo...But in turn then feel that if you come here you can't claim any knowledge or experience unless you show your work...Like "Hazing" Watch your back so you don't get a "Wedgie":eek::eek:
