In the 4th photo, from-top, my eye sees the distinct, and tell-tale, indicator of elephant ivory: the fine-grain lines. - Actually, I'm
not aware of any other animal bone/horn/tusk, that has said characteristics.
Can't be absolutely certain, but I'd put some money down on it....as a past antiques dealer, and one who has had a fair number
of items made of E-I in-hand, and before-eye...
In the 80s/90s, in FL, at the shows...including the annual Knifemaker's Guild show...I used to see some scales/handles of elephant ivory, with some frequency.
Sure ain't a common thing, these days. Federal laws, ya know.... Man, the Good 'Ole days, I'll tell ya.
