Delica 4 - Does Full Flat Grind make much of a difference?

I have a Delica 4 with the standard blade. Flat Saber Grind or Hollow Grind, I'm not sure which, I'm sure you guys know.

I'm not happy with how it slices. I do like everything else about the knife though. Would the model with the full flat grind make much of a difference? The blade would still be pretty deep (from edge to spine) and it seems to me that would limit it's agility.

I think it makes a difference, esp through something like cardboard that tends to grab. Having a crazy sharp edge is part of the calculus too.

Yeah, it definitely does make a difference, especially (as powernoodle said) for things like cardboard that tend to "pinch" blades as you're cutting through it. But with that said, I've found the saber-ground Delica to be a very good slicer (and cardboard-cutter) too, simply in virtue of its thin blade stock.

The full flat ground is an excellent slicer but i dont like how thin the blade is. too delicate for me. on the other hand i have no complaints with the full flat ground endura which i think is overall better. that said i still do use my ffg delica for more delicate tasks.

The full flat grind will slice better, but you will be more likely to break the tip of the blade. The flat saber grind is much stronger.

Is your knife sharp? Sorry I have to ask, any knife that isn;t sharp regardless of the grind is a drag to use and carry.

I have one and love it,,i dont beat it to death,,but its strong as it has liners,,,i use mine to cut fruit or open packages an example of it being a great slicer

Yes, it's very sharp. It just doesn't have the agility (if that term makes any sense here) that I want. If I'm cutting up an apple with a paring knife or Opinel I can carve it up into potato chip thin slices. But the Delica is like cutting it with a wedge.
