Delica 4 or Endura 4

I like both the E4 and D4 a lot, but if I could only carry one, it would be the D4/SE. IMO, the E4's blade is ground a bit too thick on the primary grind. Although the D4 is also somewhat thickly ground, the SE version for me still makes the edge bevel itself quite thin. Also, both the E4/D4's handles fit my hand just right. In fact, the D4's handle is larger and more ergonomic for me than the D3's, and is about perfect.

For myself, with the primary grind having been shortened on the 4's due most likely to the larger opening hole, I wouldn't mind the primary grind going back to hollow. For example, the Police model has a rather short grind, but because it's hollow, it still allows for a relatively thin edge. If the E4/D4 did that, I doubt it would negatively affect the blade strength of these models.
Nonetheless, both are great knives.

I will probably do it when they lose their initial factory edges. The main reason I'd like it hollow-ground (if the grind remains short) is that over time, a very thick saber-grind will become harder to resharpen as more metal is removed (admittedly probably after quite awhile), even if the bevels themselves are reprofiled.

I have not tried thinning out the primary grind on these knives; I don't think I have the tools (or the skills) to do it properly, as that would require removing a great deal of metal from most of the blade.

Endura for endurance
Delica for delicate stuff hah
I have both an all stainless delica original with rivets and extruded clip and a g2 Tini coated blade and both have done their job for me but are now retired in a safe place as both are over twenty years old I think.

I prefer the Endura, but I can see why some might think the Stretch has better ergonomics.

I have the endura and love it, but wish I had gotten a delica instead. The endura is a little too big, and if I'm in public I find myself grabbing my leatherman for small cutting tasks so as not to frighten the non knife people.

That said, I still carry the endura almost daily (I change it up with my rat1 and a couple kershaws). I doubt you will be disappointed either way.

The Delica is my standard reference size for EDC pocket carry. I can go a little larger, but I don't care for the Endura size at all even though I own two. That eliminates a lot of Spyderco blades for my consideration. My favorite blade size is right at 3" for a folder. I can go a little larger or smaller, but 4" is too long for me. I don't base my size choice on cutting a sandwich (food) as that is an rare use for one of my folders. I base it on my hand size and what is comfortable in my pocket.

I carry the Endura every day in my daily life. I carry a small fixed blade and a small traditional folder for the smaller tasks.

The only time I carry a Delica anymore is when I'm on a multi-day backpacking trip where weight is extra important. Then, I'll carry the Delica AND the Endura - because they're so light, you can bring both!!

I would go with the endura because i prefer a larger folder. I own one endura and 2 delicas. the delicas dont get used i just got them because they were the old clipit versions with aus-8 & G-2.

Surprised no one noticed you replied to a 7+year old post lol

Got both. Carry the Delica much more. Endura is more tactical / self defence.
Both are great knives.

I've had both, had them at about the same time. Carried the Endura once on a hike and then ended up selling it, still carry the Delica in my light-duty EDC rotation. The delica fits my hand almost perfectly (a teensy bit too small maybe for ultimate comfort) while the endura just felt too long and didn't really have a good feel in the hand.

I actually just bought a Stretch to see if the step up from the Delica that isn't the Endura is gonna be good or not. We'll see tomorrow.

Had both, prefer the longer blade of the endura. I tend to cut a lot of different stuff at work and the extra blade length on the endura comes in handy.
