Delica 4 or Salt one for boating?

Back to the original question, I'd say your choice of knife should depend on exactly how you use it. If this will be a knife that you carry on your person and keep clean, I'd suggest the delica 4. If this is something to be left stowed on your boat, I'd suggest the salt. I carry a ATS34 knife when I dive in salt water but I keep it clean so there aren't any rust problems.

Correct, if there is an iron content in the water it can leave rust colored stain on the surface when it evaporates. You often see the stains on concrete that are left by sprinkler systems. Concrete does not rust but the iron in the water leaves a rust stain on the surface. More water might be left in the engraving to make this happen there rather than on the polished surface. Remember the stain came off with a little toothpaste. ;)
