Delica 4 vs Mini Grip

The mini grip is the better knife by far yet I will always choose a delica over the MG as it fits my hand better.

I've had both and the Delica's blade geometry makes it a much better cutter, it's more ergonomic, it has a better lock, and it's just better in every way.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Think I'll go ahead and give my endura a little brother in the form of an orange delica in vg10. I've become a bit of a spyderco fan boy but I have no doubt that I'll have a mini grip soon too!

My first Delica thinly ground FFG that I hand sharpened is a joy to use I quickly learned. Not to say that The Grip has bad geometry, its quite notably good also.

I really like the frn. But you can always try out a Caly, practically the same feel, same with the UKPK.

For about $30-40 more you can get the ritter mg in m390,then it becomes a no-brainer for me.

Surprised that this hadn't been mentioned yet! I would also go this route and then get some custom scars made for it, just because I cannot stand the "cheap" feeing handles of the grip or the delica too. That's just me though, I prefer something a little more sturdy feeling rather than something which gives a little too much under pressure.

Probably, but at twice the price (mini grip + custom scales), it isn't worth it to me.

Again, this depends on the steel on the knives.

I obtained an M4 mini grip via trade, so would putting aftermarket make that better than most Delicas? I am fairly certain that most would say yes.

Buy for the steel of your choice, mod for the ergos.

Both are fantastic knives. Between my Mini-Grip and Delica, my Mini Grip got a bit more use, but mostly because mine was the Ritter version dressed up with Wilkins Grips. The Delica is also one of my most frequently carried knives and remains one of my favorite Spydercos (behind only the Caly3 CF).

I like the mini-grip and I love the delica. They're both capable knives with good blade steels and long track records. I just think the delica feels a little nicer in my hand and on my pocketbook.

If the Minigrip was 20-30 bucks cheaper, it would be a harder choice. I recommend the Delica.
