Delica Blade Markings????

Hi, im new to the forums. I was looking at a couple old delicas and one has a blade steel marking (G-2) and another one just says spyderco and nothing else. Is the one that does not say the blade steel older or newer? Also what steel could it be? Thanks

The one with no mark is older. It is probably GIN-1/G-2 (two names for the same steel), although they did use AUS-8 on a batch here and there when Gingami-1 wasn't available. The G-2 marking was used from about 1992 to 1994.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. What date do you think the ones with no marks ranged from?

Introduced in 1990, steel stamp started in 1992, so unmarked had to be in the first two years.
